The Roadmap 2050
Towards Regenerative Yachting
The Roadmap 2050 is a shared commitment by the world’s top yachting companies to reduce, remove, and restore our collective impact, across every yacht, at every stage of its life.
Yachting has a plan.
Our destination: net-zero by 2050.
Our method: collaboration, data, accountability.
Our promise: no one sails this course alone.
Insights
Can Europe actually build the industrial ecosystem needed to meet its own renewable fuel targets? That is the question at the heart of a substantial new European Commission study, executed by a consortium of EXERGIA, Politecnico di Torino (POLITO), and BEST (Bioenergy and Sustainable Technologies).
Water Revolution Foundation spent last week at the Superyacht Forum and Metstrade for a full programme of meetings, presentations and collaborative sessions.
Anders joined the board of directors in October 2025, bringing with him decades of yachting industry experience, a profound understanding of global maritime trends, and a proven track record of supporting sustainable initiatives - including his notable commitment to YETI. His leadership, strategic insight, and passion for innovation will be invaluable as we continue to drive the transition toward net-zero and sustainable yachting.
This year, F/YACHTING and Water Revolution Foundation brought together industry changemakers across two thought-provoking workshops to advance one of the superyacht industry’s most pressing conversations: the future of sustainable design.
The European Commission (EC) is scaling back sustainability reporting rules with two new proposal: Omnibus Simplification Package I and II, focusing on sustainability regulations. These proposal by the EC aims at streamlining and simplifying sustainability reporting regulations for businesses in the European Union.
Internal combustion engines, mostly powered by fossil fuels, are still the primary energy source for many industries, including boating and yachting. But as our society evolves and the scientific community reliably measures the impact of our reliance—its significant pollution and greenhouse gas emissions—our industry is at the forefront of responding to the urgent need for new technology and policy changes.
Yachting’s course toward sustainability is set, with zero emissions as the final destination. Following global climate policy goals, which have long aimed for climate neutrality by 2050, the European Union is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030.
While steel and aluminium offer durability and performance advantages, like many other materials, their production processes contribute to pollution, resource depletion, and greenhouse gas emissions. Efforts to mitigate these impacts, such as increasing the use of recycled materials, energy and resource-saving technologies, are essential steps towards reducing the industry's environmental footprint.
