Pioneering a new generation of yachts built for the future through collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to our oceans.
Committed to real, measurable outcomes, the Taskforce is a collaborative platform for naval architects, interior and exterior designers to collectively advance sustainability across the yachting fleet. If you share this vision, join us.
Companies steering the course
The Taskforce prioritises quality over quantity. To enact real change, shared dedication and collective expertise are key.

Working groups
The Taskforce consists of three working groups, each dedicated to a topic to propel environmentally-friendlier yacht design.
Interior & exterior
This working group is developing a method to assess the environmental performance of interior and exterior designs through EPD and LCA studies, while identifying lower-impact materials for both applications.
HVAC
The second-largest energy consumer onboard. We are seeking partners to join a working group focused on delivering concrete results. To get involved, contact us at info@waterrevolutionfoundation.org.
Hull optimisation
A key lever for reducing energy consumption. We are seeking partners to join a working group focused on delivering concrete results. To get involved, contact us at info@waterrevolutionfoundation.org.
Virtual roundtables
Since January 2021, 25 naval architects and yacht designers have been gathering virtually for informal roundtable discussions.
These sessions present joint case study results and confirm the pivotal role of yacht designers in driving sustainability. The success of our past roundtables have revealed a clear appetite for structured collaboration, giving rise to the Taskforce.
Developing a unified Designers’ Protocol
The latest endeavour of the Taskforce involves the creation of a standardised protocol, outlining essential sustainability principles for all new projects.
Spearheaded by Dickie Bannenberg of Bannenberg & Rowell Design, this protocol features key topics to discuss with clients for consideration when planning a new build. By collaboratively drafting this document under a unified Taskforce, we aim to facilitate the pooling of knowledge and resources in order to make concrete, industry-wide change.
